Initial line & color solves all of the green & red and a lot of the black.
EL R4. LL.
R5: Either R5C16 or R5C17 must be back. Either way, R6 C16-17 is white. LL.
R5: Making R5C8 black forces both R4C9 and R6C9 to be black, which is a contradiction in C9. Therefore R5C8 is white.

LL solves the rest.

EL 4 c4 places it.
LL
EL 2 r6 = c16-17 white (or there'd be no room for the 1 in r5)
LL
EL 2 c8 = if it were in r7-8, it would force both c7r6 and c7r8 to be white leaving no room for c7's remaining 1. So the assumption is wrong and c8r8 must be white.
LL to finish

Wombat, the only edge logic I found on r4 was some two-clue edge logic that only ruled out c5 and thus gave two more of the six and some white, but then ended.
Unless you meant c4 in which case it's the same step as my first.

My other two steps are completely different logic than yours, though. So there are at least 4 different moderate-lookahead solutions to this.

And yet at least 7 of the 12 current raters must have voted this some guessing. Sigh.

Loved solving this! Moderate look ahead it is!
#7: Wombat (wombatilim) on Jan 7, 2019 [HINT]
I may well have meant C4; writing down the wrong thing on first pass is not all that uncommon for me and I don't always catch my errors on review. Totally don't remember now if that was the case here.

good one, fun solve!
