Puzzle Description:

A cat with her paws in your face.

This is based on a photo of a cat (Noodle) who's a flickr contact of mine, however I'm quite used to waking up to this sight.

(Her landlord also takes lots of pictures of trains & stations for those who are into that.)

If you got that one by a whisker, why not try all my old ones?

After Line Logic:

Edge logic on the 8 in c1: original range is r7-20, but the 6 in c2 means that the 8 cannot reach above r10 (else it would create a block of 5 in c2). So c1r15-17 must be black.

Then LL - be sure to mark things like the 3s in c5&6. (And especially devious is marking c3r10 white. The black pixel at c3r11 must be either the top of the 4, or the 1. Either way the pixel above must be white.)

Two-way logic on the bottom 1 in c26: whether it is in r19 or 20, c25 will be black next to it, and white everywhere else. So c25r16&18 must be white. Then LL

Edge logic on the 5 in r20: its current range is c5-13. However, if it were in c5-9, it would create a block of 2 (and a conflict) in r19. So the 5 must be in c6-13 and r20c10 must be black.

Then LL to finish.

I solved it, and mostly how you said, but slightly diff at the end....not sure what you'd call it, iel perhaps...on the 5 and 2 in r 19. we knew a range on the 5 in r 20...so whereever the 4 lay in r 20, it's cross clues in the c's had to be part of the 5 in r19....allowing to place el dots using the 3 in r20 and the 2 in r19 in r20,c20-22 and a couple blacks in r20c24-25. prob not the easiest way to solve or explain, but it's what I saw at the time

great puzzle and solve, Joe!
