Joe, I like the "puzzle in a puzzle" concept but I think the maze doesn't solve, if the whites are paths. Leaving the F all the ways out lead to a dead end.

Joe - When I was in high school I spent hours and hours making mazes like this (you can verify this with my mom and my teachers). Thanks for the mini trip down memory lane!

Karl - I wish you had refused to leave a comment.

I couldn't find a way either. Maybe that's the enigma.

Following the black lines to the F... row 35 and column 9 does it for me. I can't get there from the white paths. I enjoy solving the maze puzzles.

Teresa wins! The challenge is to get *in* the F, not *to* it. Only a black path will get you into it.

Dave, I made a few mazes as a kid, but it wasn't until I was doing GAMES magazine regularly and had gotten used to thinking about how puzzles were made that making mazes became really interesting. For instance, in this maze, you can tell that the white cannot connect by tracing the wall next to the white path starting at c24r16. Keeping right at all turns, you end up at the same point eventually, thus meaning there's an unbroken wall around it.

You can also block off sections this way. For example, start at c1r12 and keep right. You will come back to an outside row at c7c35. None of the enclosed space can connect to the rest of the maze.

The opposite of my first example can be found by starting at c9r35 - a tracing will end up back at the same place, meaning that no white space on the outer edge can connect to the center.

Adam, I know there's been a lot of mazes (I've solved a fair few), but I tried to make it at least a little more interesting by including more whitespace than most. I couldn't put in too much if I wanted to keep it small, though.

karl, You did finish your garbage with a period at the end.
