Teresa, I work in the IT department of a telecommunications company that provides fixed line telephones and internet. It sounds more impressive than it is: we have 4500 telephony users and 2500 internet users. 40 people work in that building, there are many little offices as mine, no cubicles.
I share my office with my boss, a department of two.
I am the network sysadmin, I have to set up new computers and fix the old ones, and some tasks related to the "system".
Before I worked as the internet sysadmin and had set up all the servers. But as it is a small company I had to do everything, and what I did most was getting phone calls from angry customers. Ten years of that was enouh to me. I preferred to switch to a less stressing job.
As to where my office is, yes it's peaceful but it is very lonely too. I don't know if in USA you've watched an English sitcom named 'The IT Crowd'? They work in a company in a 25 stories high building - in the basement.

Claudia, I just looked up The IT Crowd on Netflix and am going to watch it.

We LOVE the IT Crowd in my house, even though we've only seen the first season. My husband was SysAdmin of a telecommunications company when I met him in 1998.

coincidentally, "where i work" i work on floor plans :) ...and just finished up a building that has a big radio mast antenna next to it.

fan of the IT Crowd here too...definitely worth a look if you haven't seen it.

Thanks to all. Yes, Argentina has very beutiful places and where I live is one of them.

We love the IT crowd. My husband works for the HCA Corporation IT&S. It is really funny when they IT crowd says "did you reboot the computer?" because that is EXACTLY what they say! LOL

I've been watching The IT Crowd, and my abs hurt from laughing so much. Ohhhhh.
