this is one of the puzzles where you did a lot with a little. good image for being 20x20.#2: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Jun 12, 2011
thanks for entry Kadou#3: bugaboo (bugaboo) on Jun 12, 2011 [SPOILER]
i dont see the moon#4: Jota (jota) on Jun 12, 2011
i see a nice earth on the right and the astronaut in the center (with somethins around his waist like the strap/attachment for the jetpack on his back)
unless the moon is the tiny white pixel in r1c12 (showing extreme distance due to its perspective)
WOW!#5: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Jun 13, 2011

There was a recent news report about the future of commercial spaceflight after retirement of the NASA space shuttle fleet.

My family plans to attend the final shuttle launch, currently scheduled for July 8. We hope they don't push back the dates too much. We expect to have a single day's notice.#8: Susan Duncan (medic25733) on Jun 13, 2011

Thank you all!#11: Synthia McBride (synthia) on Jun 15, 2011
Yes, bugaboo you found the moon. The attachement is the nitrogen-propelled, hand-controlled back pack device called the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU). It is used for Extra-vehicular activity (EVA).

Neat picture. Like a Monet painting, it becomes more clear when you step away.#12: Crissy Shehadeh (cshehadeh) on Aug 31, 2011

Terrific puzzle on a favorite theme of mine.#17: Tom O'Connell (sensei69) on Oct 27, 2011
I actually recognized North and South America rather early in the solve, but it I thought it was a coincidence because I couldn't figure out what the rest of the puzzle was, but then I found the astronaut's head and knew what I was drawing.
Well, not the moon. It's a little too square.
you liked my square moon once#18: Kadou (Kadou) on Oct 27, 2011
Thanks Jan!
