After line logic, there's lots of possible interior edge logic on the right.

You could do a couple of rounds of edge logic on the 7 in c42, and even a little on the 9 in c45. These are logical places to start. (And how I did it to begin with.) However, eventually, you'll have to do edge logic on the 2s in r15. While it's not an obvious place to start, you could do it right now and shortcut the process.

If one of those two 2s were to be in c42-43, it would cause a block of 2 in r14 conflicting with the 1s. Thus r15c42 must be white. If it were in c43-44, the same happens, so r15c43 is also white. Then line logic finishes c40-50.

Now some two-way logic. We know that r4c38 must be part of the 2 in r4. Therefore either c37 or 39 of that row must also be black.
>>If r4c37 black - then r5c37 must be the 1 clue in that row and r5c21 is part of the 6 clue.
>>If r4c39 is black - then r5c39 must be the 1 clue in that row and r5c21 is part of the 6 clue.

Either way, r5c21 is part of the 6 clue. Then line logic finishes the rest.

nice easy one - no guessing needed, just counting logic.

Nice solve! Nice puzzle! After the 9 and the seven I worked on the 5 in C36 and voila!

Jota, you can't sing with a viola or a volva ;)

Good one.
#10: Gator (gator) on May 31, 2011 [HINT]
I did the edge logic in row 15 as described, but I later used edge logic on the 6 clue in row 5 to make R5C7-R5C11 dots. The rest was line logic. Fun puzzle.

Found to be logically solvable by gator.

Great one Joe,we tried to use a saw in the jug band but none of us could get the handle of it(pun intended).

What a fun puzzle!

I love the handle of the story. A little tough to start but line logic did the job and the rest was straight forward with no guessing needed. A fun puzzle.
