LOL, until I read your description, I was SURE that it was the gremlin from the Twilight Zone. William Shatner (and John Lithgow, in the movie version) sees a gremlin destroying the engines of the plane he's riding in, but nobody believes him. South Pacific waters aren't typically so cold that a full body wet suit is needed.
All the same, fun image to look at and a nice challenge to solve.
