Puzzle Description:
Day..there's the laundry falling out of the shoot...now if I could only get someone to wash, dry and fold

Great puzzle Travis. Not sure if it was completely necessary, but I did a forced white space at R7C10 during the solve. That helped get the puzzle going again for me.#2: Linda Martin (ilovethispuzzle123) on Dec 8, 2010

That was quite a challenge to solve, lots of looking for little clues. But the outcome was very rewarding. Nice image.#5: valerie o..travis (bigblue) on Dec 9, 2010

We have a laundry chute in our house. I love the convenience of it, and also we use it as an old-school intercom between floors.#14: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 28, 2022 [SPOILER]
I've heard that they have been outlawed in the US now, as too many older siblings gave unwelcome "rides" to their younger ones!
Yikes! We had a laundry chute in our first house in Michigan (2 stories plus a basement, and the laundry was in the basement), but I think it would have been too narrow to fit a child.#15: Valerie Mates (valerie) on Sep 28, 2022 [SPOILER]
Our house had one when we moved in, but its door had pointy corners at kid-height, and our youngest kid wouldn't leave it alone, so I had the top end drywalled over, years ago. You can't even tell where it was anymore. I don't know if a kid would have fit in, but maybe a really small one. Yikes!#16: Kristen Vognild (kristen) on Sep 28, 2022
The bottom outlet was over the laundry room sink, so anything dropped down the chute ended up in the sink, getting dripped on and collecting bacteria -- it was pretty gross. Plus, if you started a load of laundry and didn't notice that there were things in the sink, it would overflow laundry-water into the basement. So it is a relief that our laundry chute is gone.
oof!
