Deep edge logic on r2, then edge logic on r1, then edge logic on r2 again.

I followed your steps, but I'm not entirely comfortable calling that solvable as you have to look 3 moves ahead. I did find a longer route to get to the solution, but the edge logic is more simple.

I did your first edge logic in R2 to make R2C1 and R2C18-R2C20 dots.

Next I looked at C20. If the 3 clue is placed in R3C20-R5C20, this will make column 17 invalid. So R3C20 is a dot. Continuing down you will see R4C20 and R5C20 have to be dots as these would make column 18 invalid.

Next, look at columns 17-19 and rows 3-5. Notice how if the 4 clue in row 3 is place all the way to the right, this will cause row 6 to be invalid. The same thing happens for rows 4 and 5 (with the 3 clues) where row 6 would be invalid. So R3C19-R5C19 are dots.

Now look at the 10 clue in column 17. Starting from the top, it will cause column 16 to be invalid as it would force R1C16-R5C16 to be filled in. So R1C17 is a dot.

That enables us now to do some simple edge logic on row 1 to make R1C13-R1C16 dots.

I then did edge logic with the 11 clue in column 2, to make R1C2 a dot as it would make column 3 invalid.

The rest solves with line logic.

Very nice puzzle.
