After line logic, there's edge logic on the 5 in r30.
More line logic.

Then for the 6s in rows 22-24. They each have 5. Since there is a 1 in c21 and a 10 in c27, c21r22-23 must be white. (If either of these were black it would cause a conflict in the 10 because the other two sixes would be forced right.)
More line logic.

Internal edge logic on the 4 in r9.
(C17-18 must be white as if black, they would cause a conflict in the 4 in r10.)
More line logic.

Internal edge logic on the 4 in r10.
(The 1s in c17 & 19 conflict with the 2 in r11. Therefore c16-20 must be white.)

Then Line logic to finish.

Fun solve, nice image! Thanks!
#6: Jota (jota) on Aug 30, 2010 [HINT]
I LOVE IT! What a great homage and excellent solve, no guessing just patience finding the last pixels. I knew immediately what it was!.
My help were placing blanks in R25C27, R9C17 and R9C18.

I got some of the trickier bits but I'll admit to having come in and looked at the hints.

Great image. High marks from me!

Oh my gosh! This is fantastic, Joe! The image is perfect. The amount of challenge was very satisfying. It was so fun to hunt for the edge logic. I'm so glad I was able to do this one without checking the hints. :-)

Third Hardest Puzzle Ever???
#18: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Feb 22, 2012
It is pretty hard. It was done for one of the weekly contests - the theme of which was to make a puzzle that was an homage to one of the founder's (Jan Wolter) puzzles.

To make up for the difficulty of this one, try his original, "The Second Easiest Puzzle Ever": http://webpbn.com/index.cgi?id=14

Thank you!

I'm still only counting 9,999 warriors. You missed one.

Lol, this is a reference to one of the comments of the easiest puzzle ever, also from WC 66. I just did all three of this series together. I'm really glad I started with Jan's and didn't come across the other two at random. They would not have made any sense.

Nice depiction of what our imaginations had to put together ourselves. Well done.
#22: Joe (infrapinklizzard) on Oct 23, 2018
This is a faithful embiggening of Jan's puzzle. Go look at his again and you'll see where you went wrong.
#23: Aurelian Ginkgo (AurelianGinkgo) on Oct 23, 2018
;P I admit nothing!
#24: BlackCat (BlackCat) on Jun 22, 2020 [HINT]
Wow! What really rich image. I did think the boats were birds, but it works either way. I did find this very tough and guessed several times. Quite a challenge.
