Last night I was discussing the arrival of spring with my grandson. We agreed that in many parts of the country people a welcoming spring with open arms while we here in Phoenix are saying, "Damn! It's spring already."

We've got the bright red buds on the red maples...you can see em a mile away. Buds on crabapples and honeysuckle also, but that's about it.

Well, that's not true either...a few other things, but not much. My forsythia flowered already and there are buds on my jap maple. I think I saw a mag flowering also. Funny how you want em in the spring, but you can't wait for the last of em to fall in the autumn
