A Christmas Carol might be a clue. Claire is very close, in fact it could be considered correct, but not quite what I had in mind. Dan's idea is unique, to say the least. lol

This is kind of old timey. Today's version would look quite different.

Everybody's been skirting around it, but in cartoons they always indicated an accountant with the ledger, green eye shade, green lamp and pen. I made it a quill pen to identify it as there is no other way to show a pen in this size puzzle. :)
