Jan, I have been thinking lately that you must be pleased to see how many people are enjoying this site, and gratified that so many folks from all over the world have whole-heartedly embraced the comment arena as a place to encourage each other and stay connected. I want to thank you myself for so many pleasant hours spent keeping my brain exercised, and have meant to tell you that the involvement of the puzzlers have added a nice "family" feeling since I first started here. Thank you for allowing the users to direct the flow of the site; and thanks to all who contribute to making this a great place to puzzle!#2: Jan Wolter (jan) on Mar 14, 2008
You are welcome. I'm pretty pleased with the way it has worked out. Amazing puzzles are being posted regularly, the forum discussions are consistently fun and supportive, and administrative overhead is so low that I was able to ignore the site for most of a month when I was busy with other things and it just kept chugging along. The last is important - I certainly want to continue making improvements to the site, but I need it to be able to run without constant motherhenning from me.#3: Arduinna (arduinna) on Mar 14, 2008
And you're right, 90% of the success is due to the really terrific user community here. Most on line communities seem to attract at least a couple argumentative, disruptive users, but we somehow seem to have exclusively nice people. Maybe people who sit around solving logic puzzles all day are just naturally mellow.
Well, I don't know if I'd call myself mellow... but nice, yes!
I love the community here as well. I think it's hilarious that the only real debates (arguments implies a little more confrontation than there actually is) seem to be over the definition of "logically solvable" and sometimes over whether or not a particular puzzle is in fact logically solvable. Everyone is a lot of fun, and there are enough puzzles here that I know I'll never get caught up!
So, thank you Jan and everyone else who posts puzzles and/or joins in the discussion boards. I appreciate it as well!
