Puzzle Description:

The logo of The Montreal Expos. The 1994 baseball season was shortened due to a players' strike, the same year Montreal was set to make a run at the World Series. The team was never the same and now ceases to exist. However, the fans still remain. We will never forget!

Nice result. You keep thinking they might have done it, if only... Thanks

They didn't cease to exist—they just changed name and country. But to fans, that may seem like the same thing! They might have grabbed the World Series in 2003, too, but they weren't given a fair shake then either.

If Jan ever adds purple to the color palette, I can do one for my team, the Colorado Rockies, who had the momentum to win the World Series in 2007. I'll never root for the Red Sox again. With apologies to any Red Sox fans. But surely you understand.

Who will ever forget Matt Holiday's game winning, chin-cutting slide into home that season!

By the way, go Boston! :-)

lol

Sigh. I miss Youppi.

Addendum! This made me look him up and I didn't realize that Youppi! is with the Canadiens! I wonder why you never see him on TV. At least I hadn't noticed him.

Oh yeah, Youppi's on TV all the time during the games. You just gotta keep an eye out.

Yeah but Youppi! in the Bell center is just a marketting plot. The Canadiens went like 98 years without a mascot and it was fine that way. At 100$ a ticket you can't see that much big familly at the hockey game to enjoy youppi! present.

1994 the year baseball die in Montreal if you ask me it was never the same after that.

At least we still got the Alouette and the Impact to keep us sport fan waiting between two hockey season

I liked Youppi until he became a hab. 1994 would have been a great time to have seen BJ Birdie and Youppi battle in the stands while the two Canadian teams had fun on the field. (I would have been going for a three-peat, but either way a Canadian team would have won. (again)
