Puzzle Description:

A classic cryptarithmetic puzzle, with the twist that the letters are replaced by similar currency symbols: S = dollar, E = euro, N = Nigerian naira, D = Vietnamese dong, M = Azerbaijani manat, R = Russian ruble, Y = Japanese yen, and O = a generic currency sign.

Cute :) Each character corresponds to a different numeral, yes? There are only 8, so it can't be 1-9...

I got 9567 + 1085 = 10652. I think that checks out.

Congratulations, Belita! That's correct! Kristen, I agree that it would be an even better puzzle with all 10 digits, but SEND + MORE = MONEY is "The classic example, published in the July 1924 issue of Strand Magazine by Henry Dudeney" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verbal_arithmetic).

Brian H, your using monetary symbols made what could have been a boring solve into a much more interesting puzzle to go along with your other interesting puzzles. Hope you make more soon.

Thanks, Norma. I'm not comfortable making the real artistic puzzles, but I'm pleased when I get an idea for an "interesting" one, and I'm glad if others enjoy them.

You tricky dude you! I expected something religious - even after the plus sign emerged, I took it as a symmetrical cross. Very good puzzle!

Clever puzzle, Brian H!

I think I will make an anagram puzzle for you.
