hi jan,#2: Jan Wolter (jan) on May 21, 2009
just a quick question, for some reason my settings are not being saved for example the buttons that say what each click (eg right middle or left mouse click) always resets to the normal ones even tho i allways change it and say save as default.
also when i click random puzzle, it asks me to put in my settings eg what type of puzzle and again even tho i say to save as default it keeps asking...
This all generally happens when i havnt been on for a few hours, am i doing somthing wrong.
Thanks
Hmmm. The database says that left and right mouse buttons are set to paint. When I log into your account and open a puzzle they do, in fact, seem to be set that way.#3: Nora Jean Miller (normaljeans) on May 24, 2009
Hmmm...I'm wondering if your session is expiring. Does the problem go away if you login in with "remember me" checked?
Supposedly the system should ask you to reauthenticate if your session expires, but maybe that is broken.
I'm having this same problem. It started around the same time as the new random puzzle options.#4: bexie (becinaus) on Jun 15, 2009
i have found that this only happens when i click on random puzzle, it may have cleared up by now but i have stopped doing random puzzles.#5: Jan Wolter (jan) on Jun 16, 2009
Yeah, I think the random puzzle page erases your other settings. It's probably not very hard to fix, but I've been having a hard time finding time for webpbn debugging lately.#6: MrsThing (MrsThing1) on Jul 11, 2009
Jan, HELP!!!! I changed my password for MrsThing, forgot the new one, and do not know how to access the password hint. Can you help me? I had to re-register as MrsThing1 to get to you. Thanks.#7: Jan Wolter (jan) on Jul 12, 2009

There isn't actually any way currently to display the hints, except to ask me. Probably there should be.
If that clue is anything anyone else is likely to be able to guess, you should probably change your password.
Thank you and bless you! Asking you is a good process. As you might imagine, I have been twitching since I couldn't wait to get back to webpbn on my original account! Does this say 'addicted'? ;-)#9: Kathy McKenzie (xwordgal) on Feb 22, 2012
I just tried clicking on the column heading "difficulty" and it sorted (both directions). Neat! But when I clicked on ?next page, the next page was _not_ in sorted-by-diff order, and none of the column headers were clickable. Is this just an incomplete feature?#10: Teresa K (fasstar) on Feb 22, 2012
That bothers me too, Kathy. I wonder if it is something easy for Jan to fix.#11: Byrdie (byrdie) on Feb 23, 2012
If you want to solve puzzles of a certain difficulty, you can try the "Best Puzzles" tab on the top.
You can also increase the number of results per page viewed.#12: Gator (gator) on Feb 23, 2012
You can also do "Find Puzzles" and sort by difficulty (either way) and many other ways. You can also increase the results per page, and the next page will still sort them by whatever you had selected them to sort by.#13: Donald Patterson (cyfartha1) on Jun 27, 2012
hi jan,#14: Teresa K (fasstar) on Jun 27, 2012
please help me with my password. I was user cyfartha and forgot my password.
Thanks
Jan is not around here very often. You can only change your password if you registered your email too. If so, you can reach Jan by email through his website (see the FAQ section on the left). If you did not include your email when you registered, you are out of luck. Sorry.#15: Donald Patterson (cyfartha1) on Jun 27, 2012
OK thanks
