I think that it could be useful to have a clock application on the side of the page ( like under the small Rss think) I don't care on what timezone it set but just as a fix setting according to wich we can fix the limit time to post puzzle for the WC and also anonce winners and new them at prefix time.#2: Naomi Millar (sailormewtwo) on Sep 8, 2008
That way we can all know when to check. Cause being all spread around the world like we are timezone and hour of the day are quite difficult to keep in mind.
There is also a possibility of using Universal Internet Time as a way of not getting ourselve stuck with diffrent time zone.
But as I said earlier any hour would do cause all we need is a time reference.
thank you in advance.... :)
Alternatively, if you add the deadline time in GMT in the rules, it's easy enough for people convert, since most timezones are defined +/-GMT. I don't know when 7PM eastern, but I would know when 12 GMT (or whatever it would be) is.#3: Jan Wolter (jan) on Sep 8, 2008
I considered doing that, but decided not to, because it's complicated. US Eastern GMT-5, except between March 9 and November 2, when it is GMT-4.#4: Beth (Shasta) on Sep 9, 2008
So 7pm Eastern Time is always 6pm Central, 5pm Mountain and 4pm Pacific, but the conversion to non-US time zones is more difficult because different countries go on and off daylight savings time at different times.
So if you want to figure out what "7pm US Eastern Time" is in you time zone, then you can go to someplace like http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html to convert it, but be aware that it may vary at different times of the year as your country and the US go on and off daylight savings time.
I'm not wildly eager to install a clock on webpbn. You can find many Eastern Time clocks on the web. One example is http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=179
I timer would be good! One that would cut me off (saving first of course) when I am spending too much time here...#5: Nancy Snyder (naneki) on Sep 9, 2008

There's always your alarm clock. If you're up late enough for that to go of, safe to say you've been on too long :D#7: Gypso (Gypso) on Sep 9, 2008
LOL Naomi! How many times has that happened to you?#8: Beth (Shasta) on Sep 10, 2008
All night! Now I know how you guys get so many puzzles done! I have more a tendency to not start dinner on time or miss the trip to the grocery store. Once the kids come home I am off the computer because it is "homework" (facebook,utube)time.#9: Sylvain "WCPman" (qwerty) on Sep 10, 2008
If you forget to go to the grocery you'll not be able to participate in WC#3: in my grocery bag....#10: Beth (Shasta) on Sep 10, 2008
lol
Maybe solving them will remind me to go!#11: Magnus Boivie (boivie) on Sep 15, 2008
I have never made a puzzle-I feel a little bad about that like I am mooching off everyone else. Even my kids tell me I should. Maybe someday...
For most people it's easier to convert to their home time from UTC (GMT) than from US Eastern.#12: Gitte Olesen (granny40) on Oct 21, 2008
I found this site... donnow if it works.

It says:See the time all over the world on this powerfull desktop world clock - see the time for almost any area of the world.
